RESEARCH AREA: COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Computational Intelligence encompasses the areas of evolutionary computing, fuzzy computing and neurocomputing. Other areas such as simulated annealing could be included although there is no general consensus on this. These techniques are applied to solve problems for which traditional computational science approaches have been proven to be inadequate. At Norfolk State we have been applying these techniques to probelems in emergency vehicle location, distributed database design, database clustering and computer security.

Current projects include:
  1. Emergency facilities and vehicle location (Jonathan Graham)
  2. Database clustering [Master's Thesis] Princess Jessie directed by Jonathan Graham
  3. Distributed database design (Jonathan Graham)
  4. Development of an intelligent tool to detect suspicious activity in sensor networks.
