RESEARCH AREA: COMPUTER SCIENCE EDUCATION
Computer Science Education is generally concerned with the implementation and or evaluation of computer programs, curricula, courses as well as syllabi, laboratories and other elements of teaching and pedagogy. Computer Science education research at Norfolk State University focuses on the are of retention, recruiting and improving pedagogy.

Current projects include:
  1. Retention of CS majors [Master's Thesis] Lisa Carrington directed by Jonathan Graham
  2. Implementation of pair programming in CSC-170 and CSC-260 courses to improve retention (DeLoatch, Graham, Harrison, Hinds, Olariu, Williams in collaboration with ODU Psychology and Computer Science Departments
  3. Improving retention and recruiting. **Poster presented at SIGCSE 2006 (Cheryl Hinds , Jonathan Graham)
